That Wednesday last fall where every single panel I installed had a bad backup battery

Opened three brand new DSC panels in a row and all three had dead backup batteries straight out of the box. Took me twice as long to finish the route because I had to swap them at the supply house. Has anyone else had a run of bad parts like that or did I just hit the unlucky jackpot?

You mean it wasn't just one bad panel but three in a row from the same batch? That's not bad luck, that's a bad batch from the factory. I had a similar thing with a run of keypads a few years back where three out of five had the LCD screen go blank after a day. Had to pull them and get replacements from the supplier, who said they had gotten a bunch of returns from other techs too. Sometimes it really is a factory problem, not just your own bad luck.

Oh man, "every single panel I installed had a bad backup battery" that is just brutal. I had a similar thing happen with a batch of motion detectors last spring where three out of four were DOA, just totally dead on arrival. It's like the universe decided to mess with your whole schedule for no reason. I feel your pain on having to run back to the supply house, that eats up so much time you can't get back. Makes you wonder if some factory worker was having a really bad day or something.
