Stopped running cat6 through ceiling grids after an old timer showed me a better way

I used to spend way too much time fishing cables above drop ceilings. I thought running them through the grid channels was fine. Then a guy I met on a job in Richmond last month said I was creating a mess for any future repairs. He showed me how to run J-hooks on the wires above the grid instead. It took a little more time at first but now I can access any cable in 5 minutes instead of 30. Has anyone else switched to this approach or do you stick with the grid?

That "5 minutes instead of 30" part really sells it for me.

Huh, I actually see it the opposite way honestly. Half the fun of cooking for me is that slow process (plus it gives me time to clean as I go).
