Motion sensor tampering issue in my suburb
Several homes in my area had break-ins where motion sensors didn't activate. I found shiny tape stuck on the sensors, probably to reflect light and fool them. How are you securing sensors against this kind of attack?

Checked my sensors after hearing about this trick. I bought some cheap metal mesh covers from a hardware store and screwed them over the sensors. That way, even if someone tries to stick tape, it can't touch the lens directly. Also, I pointed a couple sensors at each other so they cover blind spots. Now I feel a lot safer knowing it's harder to mess with them. It took an afternoon to set up but was totally worth it.

Remember when motion sensors got tricked by something stupid like animals? My neighbor's cat kept setting off his sensors with its reflection from a shiny collar. He ended up putting up a cheap battery camera that works in the dark too. Now if the sensor fails, the camera still catches anything moving. It's a basic backup that doesn't cost much. Honestly, having two different systems watching the same spot seems smarter than just one.

Tbh, mesh covers help, but you gotta test the sensor range now and then. If they're not pointed right, you'll get false alarms.
