Keypad died mid-install at a new build yesterday

I was programming a DSC system on a house in Austin and the LCD keypad just went black at 3pm. No power, no beep, nothing. Had to swap it with a spare from the truck and found the old one had a cracked trace on the board. Anyone else run into hardware failing right out of the box?

oh come on, a dead keypad out of the box is annoying but it's not like the whole system exploded. happens all the time with electronics, just swap it and move on.

Nail on the head @robert_anderson69... people act like a bad keypad means the whole ecosystem is garbage when it's literally one defective unit out of thousands.

My buddy Steve had the exact same thing with his phone last year. Got a brand new one, home button was totally dead by day two. He was about to rant all over social media until I told him to just call support, they sent him a replacement overnight and he's been using that same phone for like 18 months now with zero problems. @the_james pretty much nailed it - people see one bad apple and act like the whole tree is rotten.
