Customer asked me to hide the keypad behind a plant, what could go wrong

Last week I finished a install at a condo in Scottsdale where the homeowner insisted on covering the touchpad with this big fake monstera. I warned them the sensor might not read through the foliage, plus it looks like a security afterthought. They said it was for aesthetics and their HOA hates visible tech. I set it up anyway, but the motion sensor kept false triggering every time the AC kicked on and rustled a leaf. Ended up rewiring the whole zone to a different spot after three visits. Has anyone else dealt with customers who prioritize looks over function like this?
