Vent: Bought a cheap torque wrench set for a Cessna 172 job and it cost me a whole day

I needed to do a cylinder base nut torque on a 172 last month and grabbed a no-name torque wrench set online for about $80 to save some cash. The thing was off by almost 15 foot-pounds when I checked it against the shop's calibrated wrench after the first pass. Had to back everything out, re-torque with the good tool, and redo all the paperwork. Lost a full 8-hour day of billable time over it. What's your go-to brand for torque tools you actually trust?

Ouch, that's a brutal way to learn that lesson. I've been burned by cheap tools before, and it always costs more in the end. My shop swears by Snap-on for anything critical.

But is it really that big of a deal for every single tool? Sometimes a cheaper wrench gets the job done just fine without breaking.

Oh man, I kinda get where you're coming from though. Like, not everyone needs a thousand-dollar ratchet for their toolbox at home, you know? I've definitely had some cheap wrenches that held up fine for years on basic stuff around the house.
