That hidden pin on the MLG torque link that took me 4 hours to find

I was doing a 100-hour on a 172 and couldn't get the left main gear torque link pin out no matter what I tried. Turned out a tiny burr on the inside of the hole was catching it just enough to hide it from my inspection. Has anyone else found a dumb little defect like that that turned a 30-minute job into half a day?

Is this really something that's gonna cause major problems down the line though... I mean, a tiny burr is annoying but it's just a stuck pin, not like it's gonna make the gear fall off mid-flight. Seems like one of those things where you just file it down and move on, not a design flaw hiding in plain sight.

Heard a similar story on another forum about a hidden burr on a Cessna flap bracket.

Three different people mentioned that same burr issue now.
