Spent $840 on a borescope, it paid for itself in one week
I've always rented the snap-on borescope whenever we had a tough inspection, but after the third rental fee I did the math and bought my own. Found a cracked turbine blade on a PT6 that would've been a full teardown if I'd missed it, and the shop credited me the labor savings. Anyone else bite the bullet on a specialty tool and get the return faster than you expected?

Man, that's how it always goes with the good tools. You fight the rental fee for a while, then one job pays for the whole thing and you wonder why you didn't do it sooner. It's like the universe rewards you for finally committing to the purchase.
