Remember when you could just trust a parts manual? I lost a whole day and $80 on a bogus torque spec from an old Cessna 172 IPC.

Honestly those old manuals are still the gold standard for me. Cross-referencing with a service bulletin is just part of the job now.

Oh man, don't get me started. I had a similar mess with an old Cherokee manual last year. Wound up stripping a bolt and feeling like a total rookie.
