LED work light changed my opinion on the cheap brands

I always figured you had to drop $150 on a name brand light for it to hold up on the hangar floor. Picked up a $28 one from a truck stop outside Reno on a whim, and it's survived 14 months of drops, oil spills, and one unfortunate run-in with a tow bar. The clamp is plastic and wiggly, but the brightness matches my old big name light and the battery lasts a full shift. Now I'm wondering if I've been overpaying on other tools too, anyone else find a cheap tool that beat the expensive version?

Survived 14 months of drops" is the part that got me, cause that's way better than my expensive one did. Found a $15 magnetic pickup tool at a gas station that's outlived three Snap-on versions I bought off the truck. Now I just buy the cheap stuff first and only upgrade if it actually breaks.
