Appreciation post: an old timer at the hangar showed me a trick with a safety wire
I was fighting with a tricky bolt on a Cessna 172's exhaust bracket last week, my pliers kept slipping. This guy, Frank, who's been wrenching since the 70s, walks over without a word. He takes my wire, twists it once around his finger, then feeds it through. He said, 'Kid, let the tool do the work, you're just guiding it.' That simple change in how I held things made the whole job click. Anyone have other little tricks for tight spots like that?

Oh man, I feel that. My version is always using the wrong screwdriver for like ten minutes, getting mad, and then finally noticing the right one sitting right there in my toolbox. That "let the tool do the work" thing is so true, I just forget it when I'm frustrated.

Funny how that works... the simplest shift in how you hold something can unlock a whole task.
