That trick with shaking the basket mid-cook changed everything...
My sister told me she shakes her air fryer basket every 5 minutes for chicken wings and I thought she was crazy, but after 3 tries I got the crispiest skin I've ever had. Has anyone else found a specific timing that just works better for certain foods?

My buddy tried the same thing with frozen french fries. He shakes every 4 minutes and says they come out like restaurant style every single time. I told him he was just being fussy but then I tried it myself with some frozen onion rings. Honestly the difference was night and day, they got way more evenly browned and not soggy in spots. He swears by the 4 minute mark for anything frozen and crispy. It takes a little more effort but man is it worth it for that extra crunch.

Got a little defensive when my roommate first told me about this, I was like "dude it's just frozen food, toss it in and forget it." But then I tried his method with some mozzarella sticks and holy cow, the difference was crazy. They came out all golden and crispy instead of having those weird soft spots on the bottom. Tried it with tater tots too and now I'm a full convert. Still feels a little extra but once you taste the crunch you don't go back. Your buddy definitely knows what he's talking about with that 4 minute interval thing.
