That neighbor who burned popcorn in her air fryer 3 times in one day
My neighbor Linda in apartment 4B kept setting off the building smoke alarm last Tuesday. She told me she was trying to make popcorn in her air fryer for the third time that day. I had to explain you can't just dump kernels in there like a microwave, they need oil and a mesh basket or something. Has anyone else had to rescue someone from an air fryer popcorn disaster?

Her air fryer popcorn disaster" reminds me of my brother Dave who tried to make hard boiled eggs in an air fryer and ended up with little egg grenades going off in his kitchen. He didn't crack the shells first, same way your neighbor probably just dumped dry kernels in there with no oil. Thing is, air fryers are just tiny convection ovens, not magic boxes that make anything work. I learned that the hard way when I tried to dry herbs in mine and they all blew around and caught fire. Popcorn needs high heat and movement, and an air fryer just doesn't do that right without the right setup. People see these things online and think they can cook anything in them, but cooking is still cooking, you know?
