Pro tip: frozen fries versus fresh cut potatoes in the air fryer is a real eye opener
I tried a bag of the store bought frozen crinkle cuts against some russet potatoes I cut myself last night. The frozen ones came out okay, a bit soft, but the fresh ones got super crispy outside and stayed fluffy inside after 18 minutes at 400. I just tossed them in a little oil and salt. Who knew the cheap bag would lose? Has anyone else had a fry fail with the frozen stuff and found a better brand?

Yeah, the "sad, soggy middle" thing is real. It reminds me of when I tried those frozen potato wedges, and they came out like little damp pillows no matter how long I cooked them. I just gave up and went back to chopping a real potato.

Actually, I've found frozen fries need a good shake halfway through. That might fix the softness you had. Fresh cut are still the winner though, for sure.
