My aunt told me my air fryer chicken was dry at Easter and I finally fixed it
I've been doing chicken thighs at 400 for 20 minutes since I got the thing in 2021, and my aunt took one bite at Easter in Toledo and just said "it's a little sawdusty, hon." Turns out I was cooking from cold straight out of the fridge, so now I let them sit on the counter for 15 minutes and pull them at 175 degrees instead of 190. Anybody else get humbled by a relative who doesn't even own an air fryer?
I read somewhere that cold chicken right out of the fridge drops the temp so much the outside cooks way faster than the inside. Letting it sit out a bit makes a lot of sense, I'm gonna try the 175 thing too. My cousin roasted a whole bird in a regular oven and still found a way to judge mine, so it's not just air fryer people.
