My air fryer chicken wings turned into charcoal briquettes
Was making a batch for the game last Sunday. Set it for 400 degrees, 20 minutes like the recipe said. Walked away to grab a drink. Came back to a kitchen full of smoke. Opened it up and they were completely black. The basket was a mess. Had to scrape them out with a metal spatula. Anyone have a good temp and time for plain wings that actually works?

Used to think you could just set it and forget it like an oven. I mean, I burned a few batches myself before I got it right. The thing is, air fryers cook way faster, especially for something small like wings. I do mine at 380 for about 12 minutes, flip them, then maybe another 10. You gotta check on them, idk, every 5 minutes after that first flip. It's annoying but better than setting off the smoke alarm again.

Totally feel that. I had the same rude awakening with frozen fries, turned them into charcoal sticks. The real game changer for me was learning different foods need different temps. Like, reheating pizza is a whole different beast, way lower temp for a shorter time. You really can't treat it like a regular oven timer, gotta babysit it.

Wait, 12 minutes at 380 and then flip and another 10? That's only 22 minutes total for wings? I just spent way too long trying to figure out my math on that one.
