Just found out air fryers can warp your countertop if you set them down hot

I read a warning from a kitchen safety site last night that said a hot air fryer base can hit 200 degrees and leave permanent marks on laminate in about 30 seconds. I always plopped mine straight onto the counter after cooking, never thought twice. Has anyone else seen burn marks or warping on their counters from this?

Hot air fryer base can hit 200 degrees" is my new nightmare fuel, thanks for that. I've been setting mine on the same spot for two years and now I'm scared to look under it, honestly it's probably holding the counter together at this point. Laminate in 30 seconds, that's insane, I could have legally evicted my countertop for property damage. My only saving grace is that my counters already look like a crime scene from hot pans, so an air fryer burn would just blend in. Guess I'm investing in a trivet now, or maybe I'll just start using my cutting board as a sacrifice to the fryer gods. Appreciate the heads up, but I'd rather live in ignorant bliss with my warped counter than worry about it.
