Had to pick between parchment paper or foil for fish sticks last night
I was making frozen fish sticks in my air fryer and got stuck deciding if I should use parchment paper or foil under them. I went with parchment cause I read somewhere it lets more air flow. Big mistake. The paper kept flying up and hitting the heating coil, starting to smoke. Had to stop the whole thing after 4 minutes and fish out the paper. Switched to foil and it worked fine, no burning or weird smells. The fish sticks came out crispy on both sides too. Does anyone else just skip liners altogether and put food directly on the basket? I'm thinking that might be simpler.

Parchment paper flying into the heating coil? That sounds terrifying.

Nah, @pat_schmidt60, it's not that big a deal. Just be careful.

The paper flying up and hitting the heating coil? That's a real fire hazard waiting to happen. I always just put food directly on the basket, never had a problem.
