Burnt my hand for 20 minutes straight before realizing the air fryer basket was upside down
I spent a whole week blaming the recipe for soggy fries, then finally checked the basket at 11 pm last night and it had a giant metal lip covering the holes, has anyone else fought their own appliance for days before finding the obvious fix?

Oh man, I feel this in my soul. Did the exact same thing with my toaster oven last winter, kept wondering why everything took twice as long and came out raw in the middle. Finally realized the rack was sitting on the wrong notch the whole time. The little things get you every time. My tip now is to do a quick empty run when you first buy an appliance, just to see how it actually works before you throw food in there. And honestly, keep a flashlight near the kitchen, you'd be surprised what you catch.
