Warning: AI content detector almost cost me a freelance gig
I was editing a client's blog post last Tuesday in my home office. Ran it through an AI checker like everyone says to do. It flagged 60% as AI generated even though I wrote every word myself. Showed the client screenshots of my Google Docs version history. Now I just use detectors for obvious stuff, not as the final word.

It's wild how much we rely on tools that weren't even around a few years ago, and now they decide if our work is real or not. Feels like another way we're letting machines tell us what's true.

Saw a piece on NPR about how these detectors are wrong half the time.

Wrong half the time" - more like falsely flagging real work as fake, actually.
