The AI class at the library in Akron only had 6 people show up and it made me rethink who this stuff is actually for
I sat in on a free intro to AI class at the Akron public library on a Tuesday and counted just 6 people in the room, mostly folks over 60. One guy named Walt asked if ChatGPT could help him write a letter to his insurance company and the teacher spent 20 minutes just showing him the login screen. Watching that made me get why so much of the hype online misses actual people. Does anyone know of a beginner AI meetup that actually reaches folks outside the tech bubble?
