Sat in on a demo at the Austin library last month and now I let AI read my mom's medical paperwork first
My mom gets a lot of bills and insurance letters and I used to sit at the kitchen table with a highlighter trying to figure out what was actually due. Last month the Austin public library ran a free session on AI tools and I went mostly to kill a Tuesday evening. The person running it had us paste a fake insurance letter into a chatbot and ask it to list every dollar amount with a plain word next to each one. Took about 4 minutes and it caught a duplicate charge I had missed twice on my own. Now I do that first, then read the letter myself to check it. For people dealing with medical paperwork for a parent, are there tools that keep the info private, or is that just not a thing yet?
