PSA: That AI resume checker tool my whole team used is training on our personal info

Found out from a privacy audit last week that the 'smart' hiring filter we paid $500 a month for was feeding candidate data into their public model. Has anyone else looked into what these platforms actually do with your sensitive documents?

Respect the pushback but I mean @west.henry has a point though - most of us just click agree without even looking. I know these companies make the terms confusing on purpose but at some point we have to take a little responsibility for what we're signing over. Maybe it's just me but blaming the fine print feels like letting them off too easy.

Did you read the fine print or just click agree? That sucks though, thanks for the heads up.

And is that really how it's supposed to work though @west.henry? Like we're all supposed to become lawyers just to use a website or buy a product? It's getting ridiculous how these companies hide the bad stuff in paragraphs of legalese. I get that nobody reads the whole thing, but that's because it's designed to be ignored. They know exactly what they're doing when they bury the important stuff in the middle of page 14. Makes you wonder how many people have been burned by this same trick and just didn't notice until it was too late.
