NLP model finally detected sarcasm in my test dataset. Months of tweaking paid off. Quiet win.

Months for sarcasm detection?

Honestly, is detecting sarcasm really that big a win? I'm with @reed.mia on questioning the timeframe. We humans pick it up instantly from tone and context. Months of tweaking so a model can guess that "Nice job on the spreadsheet" might be negative feels like over-engineering. The field chases these narrow benchmarks while missing broader understanding. Seems like we're celebrating a machine finally recognizing a raised eyebrow.

What features did you lean on for sarcasm detection? We tried sentiment analysis but it kept missing sarcastic tones without the full chat history. Ended up scraping and labeling forum threads for weeks, total headache. If you got it working in months, that's pretty solid.
