My big mistake with a smart bug tracker AI
I tried this new AI tool that was supposed to forecast pest outbreaks. It told me to focus on one area, but the real problem was somewhere else. I lost a loyal customer because of that. Now I think these AI systems are just guessing most of the time. Why do people act like they are always right?

My cousin's farm AI told him a dry spell was coming, but we got flooded instead. They hype this stuff up way more than it deserves.

People forget these things learn from whatever data we give them. If your neighbor only reports squash bugs but you have tomato hornworms, the AI builds a wrong picture for your area. It's not smart, it's just echoing bad info. My buddy's vineyard tracker kept missing a mold because its training photos were from a drier climate. Garbage in, garbage out.

Remember my smart thermostat learned my schedule so wrong it tried to cool an empty house to 60 degrees in July. @the_tessa is right, it just echoed my weird first week of random adjustments. My plant app still calls every green patch in my yard "likely basil" because I took fifty pictures of my herb garden that one time. Feels like we're training very expensive, very dumb pets. What's the worst "garbage out" you've gotten from a gadget?
