My AI writing assistant kept giving me fluff until I tweaked the temperature setting

A buddy of mine who runs a content agency told me to lower the temperature on GPT models for serious writing. I was running at 0.9 like a dummy, getting flowery nonsense and weird tangents. Dropped it to 0.4 two weeks ago and now my drafts are way more focused and on point. It cut my editing time from an hour to maybe 20 minutes per post. Has anyone else messed with these settings and seen a big difference in output quality?

I get where you're coming from with lowering the temp, but I actually prefer running mine higher around 0.7 or 0.8 because the fluff lets me find weird angles I wouldn't think of on my own.

Mine runs so low it's basically a flip phone.
