My AI writing assistant just hallucinated a fake court case in my legal brief
Last Tuesday I was proofreading a draft my AI helped with for a client and noticed it cited a case called 'Miller vs. State of Ohio 2023' which doesn't exist. I had to rewrite the whole section from scratch and now I triple check every citation before sending.

Totally agree and it's so annoying because you think you're saving time but then you're just creating more work. I had one make up a whole federal regulation number once, complete with a fake date and everything.

The 'Miller vs. State of Ohio 2023' thing is wild. I always check citations now too because that could get you in real trouble.
