I compared AI transcription and doing it by hand for 3 weeks straight

I had a client bring in her goldendoodle last month and she mentioned she uses some AI tool to transcribe client notes for her dog walking business. I was still typing everything out myself for my grooming shop. Seemed like it would be more trouble than it's worth, you know? But I gave it a shot for 3 weeks. First week was a mess trying to get it to understand "matting" vs "mating" and stuff. But by week two I was saving about 45 minutes a day. By hand I'd spend at least an hour after closing typing notes. With the AI I just talk into my phone while I drive home. The transcription is like 95% accurate once you train it a bit. The real kicker was last Thursday when I had 6 dogs booked and I got home at 7pm with zero notes to type. Has anyone else found a specific AI tool that actually works for their small business or is it still mostly hype?

Honestly it's wild how fast we adjust to stuff like that. Tbh I feel like once you get over the initial learning curve most of these tools just become invisible helpers that you forget you're even using. Ngl that's kind of how all technology works eventually.

Invisible helpers" got me. I still yell at my phone to stop autofilling wrong words.
