Thought AI art was just overhyped filters until a friend showed me the Midjourney v6 settings
I used to roll my eyes every time someone posted an AI image online. Then a buddy at a local coffee shop in Portland pulled up Midjourney v6 and walked me through how he got a photorealistic oak tree with specific bark texture and lightning conditions. It wasn't just hitting a button, he had to tweak the prompt and parameters for 20 minutes. Has anyone else changed their mind after seeing the actual work behind AI outputs?

Tweaking the prompt for 20 minutes sounds about right, it's honestly a skill once you dig in.

The one time I spent 45 minutes on a prompt I realized I could have just typed what I wanted in 30 seconds and gotten something close enough. I mean, tweaking is fun and all but at some point you're just polishing a turd. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather generate 10 quick variations and pick the best one than obsess over one single prompt. idk, time is money even if it's just for fun.
