Just saw that AI wrote 15% of all text on the internet last year
I was reading a report from something called the AI Index and it said in 2023, AI systems generated about 15% of all new text content online. That number blew my mind because I figured it was maybe 5% tops. How do you even verify what's real anymore when you browse? Has anyone else run into obvious AI junk in their search results lately?

King.andrew's buddy could have spotted that dryer belt article was AI junk by checking if it had actual photos or video.

My buddy Dave was looking up how to fix a squeaky dryer belt last month and the top result was this block of text that just kept saying "replace the belt with a new belt" in different ways for like 800 words. It never actually told him where the belt was or how to get the machine apart. He finally found a forum post from 2019 that actually helped but that AI garbage wasted 20 minutes of his life.
