I let an AI schedule my delivery routes for a week and it saved me 2 hours but I am not sure I am okay with it
Last week I turned my route over to a routing app that uses AI instead of doing it by hand like I have for a decade, and it cut my day from about 9 hours to 7. The thing is, it kept sending me through this one neighborhood in the morning that I always avoided because of school traffic, and it still worked out faster. On one hand, 2 hours back in my week is real, that is time with my kids. On the other hand, it made a call I would never make and it was right, which bugs me more than it probably should. Where do you all land on this, if a machine just knows your job better than you do, do you fight it or just take the win?
My buddy used a chess app to learn openings and it told him to play some move he thought was dumb. He tried it anyway and won like five games in a row, now he just trusts the thing. Watching him get mad about being right is pretty funny.
