Dropped $140 on an AI resume coach, got rejected 3 times this week anyway

I figured a tool that scans your resume and predicts how an ATS reads it would be a no brainer. Paid $140 for a yearly subscription to one of those services, the kind that grades your bullet points and suggests buzzwords. Spent two hours rewording everything to fit their 'optimized' templates. Then I sent out 12 applications with the new version and got three rejection emails in the same week, one even said my experience looked 'generic.' Not sure if the AI was just training me to sound like everyone else, or if the real problem is that hiring bots are dumber than the tools trying to beat them. Has anyone else paid for these services and seen the opposite result, like actual callbacks?
