Walked into an art gallery downtown and half the pieces had that telltale AI shimmer - nobody seemed to care

If the artist used AI to generate the base and just tweaked it, does that count as original work, or is it basically cheating your way into a show?

Actually @margaret_kelly55 I noticed that right away, but figured it was just some kind of protective coating they put on in shipping. Had a similar issue with a lamp from that same brand a few years back, turned out to be a leftover film that peeled off easy. Could be worth checking if yours has that too.

Check if they used a different manufacturer for that batch though @margaret_kelly55 because I've seen that kind of finish on cheaper knockoffs before and it never holds up. Laura's peeling film idea makes sense too but sometimes it's baked into the paint which means it's there forever. Did you try rubbing it with a damp cloth to see if it changes?
