Tried feeding an AI my old sketchbook and it spat out something that felt like theft.
I scanned 50 pages of my college art from 2018 into a popular generator, and the output was a polished, soulless version of my own style that some rando online is now selling as prints, which taught me that the 'tool' argument falls apart the second it perfectly mimics a living artist's fingerprint without their say.

That's just digital grave robbing now.

Oh man, that's so creepy and it hits home. A close friend of mine, a textile designer, had her whole portfolio scraped from her old blog and now sees her exact floral patterns, I mean the exact color blends, on fast fashion sites. It made her feel sick. It's exactly what @wells.miles said, just robbing the digital grave of someone's old work because they think no one will notice. The argument that it's just a tool completely ignores where it's getting the stuff to learn from, and that's the whole problem.
