Tried feeding AI art into a painting class critique session... big mistake
I took some stable diffusion pieces to my local community college painting course last Tuesday thinking they'd spark a cool discussion about tools and creativity. The instructor asked if I even knew how to hold a brush and half the class walked out. Learned that context matters way more than I thought - has anyone else tried bridging AI and traditional art spaces?

Oh man that sounds about right lol. Walking out seems a bit dramatic though, its not like you brought a printer to a watercolor exam. Bet the instructor felt super threatened that a robot could do in 10 seconds what takes their students 10 hours. Classic gatekeeping energy from someone who probably still thinks digital art is cheating. Honestly you should go back next week with an AI generated painting of the instructor holding a brush wrong just to see the meltdown.

Ha! Yeah walking out is pretty extra but I get it. I once brought a photo I took on my phone to a life drawing session thinking it would help with proportions and the instructor just stared at me like I'd pissed on the easel. At least you didn't accidentally submit a midjourney piece to a juried art show claiming it was your "emotional interpretation of a sunset" then have to explain to the judge that no you cannot actually paint. Learned that one the hard way.
