Trick for fixing AI hands in midjourney that saved me 6 hours

I kept getting those messed up hands in every render... extra fingers or weird joints. After maybe 40 tries I finally tried a simple fix. I started describing the hand pose as a specific action like "clutching a coffee cup" or "pointing at something" instead of just saying "hand." It worked on like 8 out of 10 renders. Anyone else found a specific word combo that fixes the hand problem?

It's like how if you tell someone to just "pose naturally" for a photo they freeze up, but if you give them a specific thing to do like "pretend you're showing someone your watch" suddenly it looks real. The brain needs that little anchor.

Lol exactly, give me a fake task over awkward instructions any day.

Gotta disagree here. I tried the "clutching a coffee cup" thing and got a hand that looked like it was melting into the cup with 7 fingers wrapped around it. Midjourney doesn't understand context like a human does, it's just pattern matching. My best results came from keeping it simple like "relaxed open palm" or "fist" with zero extra words. The more specific I got, the more it hallucinated weird anatomy trying to satisfy my description.
