Switched to AI vector tracing for logos and lost a 5 year client
A buddy told me last summer that I was wasting time hand tracing logos in Illustrator. I tried an AI vector tool for a repeat client's rebrand and it messed up the kerning on their tagline. They noticed right away and said it looked like a robot did it, now I'm back to manual and they're still mad 3 months later. Anyone else get burned trusting an AI shortcut with a long time client?

Wait did you check the brand style guide before running it through AI?

Did you try telling your buddy that "saving time" costs you five years of trust? Sounds like that AI tool couldn't even do the one thing manual tracing gets right. I guess robots still can't spell check a tagline kerning table.

Three years of brand work gone in five minutes because someone wanted to skip the manual proofing. @caleb_thomas93 knows the style guide is the first thing to burn when you hand it off. The AI probably couldn't even match the kerning on that one old logo file. Hard lesson, hope they kept the backups.
