Saw an AI art booth at a convention in Portland last month and it was weird

I was at Rose City Comic Con and there was this guy selling prints that were clearly AI generated. He had dozens of them, all different fantasy landscapes and characters, but they all had that same blurry detail problem in the hands and eyes. I asked him how long he'd been drawing and he admitted he can't draw at all, he just types prompts. Some people were buying them up for $30 a print. Has anyone else seen this kind of setup at local events?

In my experience, the convention circuit is already full of these, so I'd definitely check vendor application guidelines before booking a table myself.

Heard a story from a buddy who runs a small craft booth. He booked a table at a local con without reading the fine print first. Showed up and found out they had five other vendors selling basically the same handmade jewelry and candles he was doing. Ended up barely making back his table fee, just sat there most of the weekend watching people walk by. He told me he learned the hard way to always ask what other vendors are gonna be there before handing over any money. Have you ever seen a con that actually limits duplicate vendors or is it always a free for all?

Oh man, reminds me of the time I showed up to a craft fair and the person next to me literally had the same prints I spent weeks making!
