My nephew said something about AI art at my sister's place in Boise and I can't shake it
He's 19 and draws every day, and when I asked if he uses any AI tools he said no, but then he said something that stuck with me, he said the AI pictures all look like they were made by someone who has never been bored. I didn't get it at first, then I scrolled through a feed of AI stuff for like 20 minutes and it clicked, everything was polished and finished and nothing felt like it was made at 2am by a person messing around. I still think the tech is cool and some of it looks great, but I keep thinking about what gets lost when nothing is rough or unfinished anymore. Has anyone here had a talk like that change how they see this stuff?
