My local art fair in Portland went from zero AI art to about a third of the booths having some this year
I've been going to the First Thursday art walk for five years, and last month I saw a huge jump in people selling prints they made with Midjourney. One guy told me he can make a whole series in a day now, which he said is 'just a tool' like Photoshop. It feels weird because the stuff looks cool, but you can tell it's not made by hand in the same way. Has anyone else seen their local art scene change this fast?

Yeah, that "whole series in a day" thing is exactly what feels off about it. It just hits different when you know someone put real time into a piece.

It's like the difference between fast food and a home cooked meal. One fills you up quick, but the other has a care you can actually taste. Time is the main ingredient that's missing.

You can spot rushed work a mile away. It's like when you see a cheap paint job, the brush strokes are all wrong and it chips in a week. Real quality needs drying time between coats. That care shows up in the final product every single time.
