My aunt lost it when I turned our family photo into AI art

I tried an AI art generator on a picture from our reunion. She got mad and called it cheating, arguing it hurts real painters. How do you see using AI for fun stuff like this?

A neighbor doing their own trim means one less call to a pro who needs that work to pay bills. It adds up across a whole town. That lost work hurts more than people realize.
