Compared a DALL-E 3 piece to a Midjourney one at the gallery last night
A local gallery near me in Portland had two AI art pieces hung side by side. One was made with DALL-E 3 and one with Midjourney, both on the same prompt about a rainy street. The DALL-E one had weird fingers and blurry signs, but the Midjourney one actually looked like a real photo with clear reflections. Has anyone else run into big quality gaps between these tools for specific subjects?

Oh man, totally agreed! I did a similar test with an ocean sunset scene and the Midjourney result looked way more realistic while the DALL-E 3 one had this weird plastic texture on the water.

Haha tell me about it, my DALL-E 3 attempt at a rainy street looked like someone dropped a wet mop on a painting. Even the umbrellas were melting into puddles while Midjourney gave me actual raindrops I could almost feel. Guess my artistic eye is compensating for something.
